laps Funraiser
Over crowded animal shelters leaves us all with the question of how can we help? LAPS was formed to assist in making sure pet overpopulation is not a problem in Summit County. This is done through raising money to sponsor programs that assist in the cost of spaying / neutering our companion animals.
The people of Summit County absolutely love their companion pets. It's very common on the cold days of winter to see a car with one or more windows down so their dogs can catch the breeze. But what happens when an unexpected Veterinarian bill forces an owner to make tough decisions regarding their companion animal? LAPS helps with medical assistance for families in need to provide care for family pets that give so much.
LAPS programs for assistance include:
Medical and Spay/Neuter assistance for income qualifying applicants who live or work in Summit County.
Provides funding for the spay and neuter program at the Summit County Animal Shelter.
LAPS has been proudly serving Summit County, Colorado since 1990 as a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Funds for LAPS programs are raised through public grants, tax-deductible memberships, companion remembrances, special events, and always very generous donations from our wonderful local business community.
LAPS does not have any paid staff members nor do we rent office space. All event workers are volunteers, so nearly 100% of your generous donation will always be invested directly back into our community for the benefit of companion animals in need.
LAPS is not part of the Summit County Animal Shelter, but we do subsidize their spay/neuter program in part with a generous annual grant from The Summit Foundation. This funding allows the shelter to transfer in companion animals from over crowded shelters in other areas of Colorado and the United States, thus expanding the reach of life saving programs.

Summit musicians relief Funraiser
SMRF came into being after two well-loved local musicians fought leukemia: Arnie J. Green and Leon Joseph Littlebird. Their struggles led to numerous fundraising concerts and silent auctions to help cover huge medical expenses and loss of income.
Sadly, we lost Arnie in 2015. Fortunately, aided by our community’s support, Leon recovered. It was then that a group of concerned locals formed the Summit Musicians Relief Fund to build a ‘proactive’ fund to be available when needs arise in the future within our musician community.
the kirkos band
Kirkos makes progressive punk jazz.
Defying the boundaries of conventional genres, the trio combines elements of jazz fusion, post rock, doom, prog, punk, jam, electronic, and industrial music to create a refreshingly unique sound of their own. Audiences have described the music as “deep rhythm electro prog rock”, “swamp jazz for the third eye”, “villain funk”, “doom-groove”, “baroque prog”, “astro-trance fusion”, “castle rock”, “aquatic dub jam”, and “post-everything”.
Based in St Louis, MO, Kirkos channels inspiration from their post industrial environment to conjure cinematic soundscapes with expansive terrains that reflect the decay of the modern era. Taking audiences from desolate valleys, through melancholic hills, to exhilarating climbs with triumphant peaks- each musical endeavor is an emotive journey that explores the furthest reaches of human consciousness.

Every year Colorado Pint Day is held on a Wednesday in the spring. While the event is a fundraiser for the Colorado Brewers Guild, we also hope to encourage beer lovers to visit breweries on a day of the week that is traditionally slower, hence a Wednesday.
